The theft case involving Kawsu Samba, Seedy Ceesay and Salifu Samba proceeded recently at the Brikama Magistrates’ Court.

Salifu Krubally testified as the second prosecution witness (PW2), telling the court that he recognised all the accused persons and on 13 April 2012, in the morning, he and one Foday were with their chainsaw machine going to Abuko to work.

He said the chainsaw machine was with the said Foday and when they reached the garage, they joined the vehicle and the vehicle conductor told them they should not place the chainsaw machine on the seat.

The witness added that the vehicle conductor asked them to give him the chainsaw machine to place it at the back of the vehicle, adding that they told the vehicle conductor that if the chainsaw machine got lost or damaged, he would pay for it, and he agreed.

He said when they alighted from the vehicle they asked the vehicle conductor about the chainsaw machine and he could not find it, stating that they later reported the matter to the Brikama Police Station, where he made his statement.

The case at that juncture was adjourned till 14 May 2012.
