The tournament was organised by Mr Don, a Nigerian, as part of marking his country’s 55th independence anniversary held yesterday.
The final attracted spectators from Manjai and its environs for the cracker between Packer and Dolphin the Manjai biggest football arena.
Dolphin received a giant trophy and cash prize of D5,000, whilst Packer pocketed D3,000 as the runners-up.
Speaking to reporters shortly after the game, Mr Don said four teams took part in the tournament, adding that the objective of the tournament was to bring together Nigerians in The Gambia.
Mr Don added that football is the only thing that can bring people together and interact and build strong relationship among them.
He pointed out that he is looking for sponsors for the tournament, saying he also wants to increase the teams from four to twelve as well as the prize money.
Mr Don applauded the Nigerian High Commission in The Gambia for the support rendered to the tournament.
He also hailed the Gambia government for giving Nigerians peaceful atmosphere to stay in the country.
