The
Constitutional Review Commission has announced in a news release on Thursday
that it will submit its much anticipated final Draft Constitution to His Excellency,
President Adama Barrow at State House on Monday 30 March, 2020.
“This
follows a series of consultations with Gambians at home and abroad as to how
they wish to be governed in the new Draft Constitution. It could be recalled
that, the CRC made a promise to Gambians at a press conference held on Monday
27th January, 2020 that it will submit the final Draft Constitution to the
President not later than March, 2020.”
“It
is gratifying to note that a lot of effort was
invested by Gambians from all walks of life to ensure that the
Commission produces a Constitution that will stand the test of time and become
a model for not only the African continent but the World at large.”

CRC will also publish, on Tuesday 31st
March, 2020, the final Draft Constitution and the accompanying Report on its
website (www.crc220.org) and via its
social media platforms (Twitter: @crcgambia, Linkedin: crc@gambia and Facebook:
Constitutional Review Commission, The Gambia) to give Gambians the opportunity
to acquaint themselves with the contents
of this national document of great importance.”
