Hadim Saine, a witness told the court he is a businessman dealing in vehicle tyres.
He said he recognised the accused and on 21 April 2012, he was going to his workplace when he received a call from his friend, one Njaga, informing him that he saw a person selling tyres at a garage.
The witness further told the court that when he got to the car park, he saw the accused person with two vehicle tyres, which he recognised as his.
He further told the court that the accused person stole 16 motor tyres and he only found 8 tyres with him at the said garage.
He said he went to the Police Intervention Unit, he was given escort to the Serrekunda Police Station together with the accused person.
He added that he later made a statement to that effect.
Meanwhile, the accused person was granted court bail of D50, 000 with a Gambian surety, who must deposit an ID card.
The case was adjourned till 21 May 2012.
