The
rape case involving one Sanna Kah continued recently at the Special Criminal
Court in Banjul with the testimony of a witness.
Modou Jallow, a police officer attached to Yundun Police Station, told the court that some time in November 2011, at Yundum Police Station, he was instructed by his boss to obtain a cautionary statement from the accused.
He explained that after obtaining the cautionary statement, he read the accusations in the statement to the accused, which he denied, adding that the accused then thumb-printed it and he signed the statement as the recording officer.
The witness identified the said cautionary statement, which was tendered and admitted as exhibit.
He added that he did not investigate the case; he only obtained a cautionary statement from the accused person.
The case continues.
