Court hears engine theft case

The Brikama Magistrates’ Court recently heard a case of theft brought against one Omar Daffeh, a resident of Jambanjally.

According to the charge sheet read in court, the accused, Omar Daffeh, on 7 March 2012, at Jambanjally, in the West Coast Region, stole a motor vehicle engine, valued at D15, 000, the property of one Madi Sanyang.

Daffeh denied the charge and was granted court bail of D25, 000 with two Gambian sureties, who must swear to an affidavit of means, and deposit their valid ID cards with the court.

Hearing was adjourned till 11 April 2012.
