The murder case involving one Lamin Sey recently continued at the Special Criminal Court in Banjul with the testimony of a prosecution witness.

In her testimony, Mariama Darboe told the court that on 15 March 2011, she was in her compound when she heard somebody wailing, but she did not know the person at the time, and she did not bother herself to know who that person was.

She said that when she inquired from her daughter, she was told the accused had a fight with one Sulayman Bajo and the accused stabbed the deceased with a knife on his chest, but she was not present at the scene of the incident.

Ms Darboe further adduced that she saw the deceased at the time they were taking him to the police station, and she had visited him at the hospital in Banjul, where he was hospitalised for almost two weeks.

She said at the beginning, she did not know the cause of the fight, but was later told they were arguing over money, but she did not know who owned the money.

The case continues.
