Rohey George, a complainant, recently continued her testimony in the alleged jewellery theft case involving one Abdou George at the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court.

The accused, Abdou George, was charged with two counts of housebreaking and stealing.

It was alleged that the accused stole some jewellery valued more than D2 million, a charge he had since denied.

Asked by the prosecutor why she accused Abdou George for stealing her property, the witness said the accused was the only one that used to come to her place and stole there every other time.

She further revealed that when she went to call her daughter at the stadium, she met with one Amie Jawo, who informed her that she saw the accused with a bag, standing at the door of her (the witness’s) house.

The complainant told the court that Amie Jawo was her niece and they lived together on the same street and there are five compounds in between their houses.

Asked how often Amie Jawo used to visit her compound, the witness said Amie Jawo used to visit their compound every time and that her mother (the witness) is Amie Jawo’s grandmother.

Hearing continues.
