The
Gambia CHAN team yesterday left Banjul for Mbour, where they will rub shoulders
with Senegal’s U-20 team in an international friendly match slated for Friday
17 February 2017.
The
international friendly match is part of The Gambia’s preparations for their
2018 CHAN qualifiers at home to Mali in July 2017, in Banjul.
The
home-based Scorpions under the guidance of coach Alagie Sarr, assisted by Foday
Bah, Abdoulie Bojang and goalkeeper trainer Abdoulie Bakary Njie will use the
tie against the young Terranga Lions to stretch their muscles up for their 2018
CHAN qualifiers against the Eagles of Mali in the first leg tie in Banjul in
July 2017.
It
would be recalled that The Gambia have never qualified for the CHAN competition
since its inception in 2009, which is meant for players plying their trade in
their respective domestic league competitions.
