Alleged Barra murder case reaches climax

The murder case involving one Ndey Jagne, a Senegalese national residing in Barra, reached its climax at the Special Criminal Court in Banjul, with the prosecution announcing they had closed their case after calling their witnesses.

According to the particulars of offence, Ndey Jagne, some time in 2010, at Barra village, Lower Nuimi District of the North Bank Region, murdered one Haddy Faye by stabbing her with a broken bottle in her neck.

The accused, who had since denied the charge, is remanded in custody and the case was adjourned till today for defence.
