The
Chinese Government Scholarship programs for the academic year 2020-2021 are
open for application now! The following is information for applicants:
Why
study in China?
China
is the second largest economy in the world. Since the implementation of Open
and Reform policy in 1978, China has made great achievements in social and
economic development and has built an advanced higher education system. Today,
China has more than 2,900 universities and colleges, providing high-standard
tertiary education to more than 38 million domestic students and nearly 500
thousand international students.
To
help the Gambian Government in its efforts of capacity building, China has been
providing various scholarship programs for Gambian students since the
resumption of diplomatic relations in 2016. Until today, more than 120 Gambian
students have successfully applied to study in China through the Chinese
Government Scholarship programs. These students are not only benefiting their
own careers from the programs, but are also bringing back China’s cutting-edge
technologies and development experience so as to contribute to The Gambia’s
future.
