Dawda Bah’s HJK Helsini have been paired with Wales Premier League champions, Bangor City, in the Champions League second-round qualifiers in Monday’s draw.
Bah, HJK Helsinki side who narrowly missed out a place in the Europa and Champions League qualifiers, last season will host the Wales Premier League champions in the first leg scheduled to take place from June 28/29 to July 5/6. They will later travel to Wales in the return leg on July 12/13 or during the 19/20.
Should any of the sides make it through to the third qualifying round, there is the chance they could face Scottish giants Rangers.
The 27-year-old Bah, who has now got a total of 15 goals in 60 appearances to his name since joining the club in 2008, is so far the only Gambian player whose side is competing in the champions’ league qualifiers.
He is rated as one of the most successful Gambian professional players in recent times. The HJK Helsinki inspirational midfielder was recently recalled by national team coach Paul Put in the Scorpions’ 1-0 glory against Gabon.
HJK Helsinki, the two-time Finnish double champions, consecutively, are looking forward to another successful spring.
