The
newly appointed Chief of Defence Staff of The Gambia Armed Forces (GAF),
Lieutenant General Yankuba Drammeh alongside Navy Captain, Dembo Jarju have
agreed to go on self-quarantine amid the spread of Covid 19, The Point has been
informed.
This
comes following news on Tuesday that the first Gambian infected with Covid 19
also arrived on the same Royal Air Maroc Flight.
CDS
Drammeh, Navy Cpt Dembo Jarju and Mamour Jobe, Inspector General of Police,
were part of passengers that boarded Royal Air Maroc flight, which arrived at
the Banjul International Airport on 14th March, while on an official mission
from France.
When
contacted for comments, Major Lamin K. Sanyang, the spokesperson of GAF, said
the newly appointed CDS has decided on his self-quarantine.
Meanwhile,
the spokesperson of Gambia Police Force, ASP Lamin Njie couldn’t be reached for
comments at the time of gathering the reports.
