Case of obtaining money by false pretence continues

Hearing continued recently in the case of obtaining money by false pretence and conspiracy to commit misdemeanor involving Alpha Sey, Sheriffo Colley, Jairatou Colley, Matarr Colley and Ali Jobe at the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court.

The second prosecution witness (PW2), Ousman Drammeh, testified and told the court that he is a police officer attached to CID Serrekunda Police Station.

He said he recognised the first, second and third accused persons and on 8 October 2011, he was on duty when the accused persons were brought to the station on the allegation that they had obtained money by false pretence and conspiracy to commit a felony.

Officer Drammeh further testified that he read both the cautionary and voluntary wordings to the accused persons in the presence of an independent witness and later obtained the statements from them, which they all signed.

Hearing was adjourned till 14 March 2012.
