Case of criminal trespass, willful damage to property proceed

The case of criminal trespass, willful damage to property and assault causing actual bodily harm involving one Pape Secka, Wednesday continued at the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate Bojang.

Sheriffo Singhateh testified, telling the court he is a police officer attached to Sanchaba Police Station.

He said he recognised the accused person and on 29 January 2013, he was at the station when he received a complaint from one Sidat Camara that he was being assaulted by the accused person at his shop.

Officer Singhateh further adduced that after receiving the complaint, he booked his departure together with the complainant and a police officer to the accused person.

He added that the accused was invited to the police station where the two were confronted and statements were obtained from them.

Officer Singhateh narrated that the case file was later compiled and the accused thumb-printed his voluntary and cautionary statements.

Hearing continues on 14 March 2013.
