Subsequent to the recently held General Assembly on Saturday March 17, 2012 at the Manneh Sillah Court, the executive committee of The Gambia Basketball Association wishes to invite clubs to register for the 2012-2013 basketball season on or before May 2, 2012.
Clubs are encouraged to register both male and female teams. The registration fee per team is D500 (five hundred dalasis).
Clubs should submit for each player an official copy of their current national identification card or passport and two recent pictures.
Each team is also expected to have a functioning executive and should provide their details as required on the registration form as a registration will be considered incomplete without the officials.
Mr. Abdoulie M. B. Jallow, the Secretary General, said: “Furthermore, a team is to submit the name of your coach and two individuals who are to be reviewed for a referees training course next month.
“The individuals should be trainable in refereeing as they will be certified at the end of the course. Those certified will be eligible for international referee training courses. It is noteworthy to mention that the nominees should not be registered officials and players except for the coach. The importance of the training cannot be overemphasized as the success of the upcoming basketball season depends highly on the availability of qualified match officials.
“Finally, on behalf of the President and the entire Executive we wish to express our sincere gratitude for bestowing your confidence on us to serve the basketball fraternity. We wish to assure you and your team of our full commitment to developing basketball in The Gambia. “
