In East Knockout: Medina FC sail to quarterfinals

Medina FC have joined the likes of Manchester United, Milan FC, Cannon FC, Juventus FC, Latrikunda United and Abuko United who earlier qualified to the quarterfinals stage of the ongoing Serrekunda East Sports Development Organisation (SESDO) Knockout competition.

Medina FC made it to the quarterfinals after beating R.S.L. Zurich FC 5-4 on penalty shootout after drawing goalless on regulation time at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium on Monday.

Meanwhile, the Banjul Sports Committee has issued a notice as follows:

ADJUSTMENT OF TIME

The adjustment of the time will now be adhered to the limit as teams are causing unnecessary delays and reporting for matches. Matches will now commence at 4.00PM. Henceforth, if teams report late for matches the playing time will be reduced to accommodate for penalties which will ensure that matches will not be stopped because of visibility.

ABANDONED MATCHES

All matches abandoned due to lack of visibility, i.e. darkness and not visible for the penalty kicks to be taken will be moved to the next day for the penalty kicks to be taken from now on to the quarterfinals.

MALICK JOOF – FALCONS

The head coach of Falcons, Malick Joof, is suspended from the bench for two (2) consecutive matches for being sent off the bench by the Match Official during their match against Plumbi UTD on Monday, 7 October 2013. He should not be on the bench, behind the bench or enter the dressing room.

BUYA MBOOB – MAN CITY

Buya Mboob of Man City is suspended for two (2) consecutive matches for matching off the field without the match officials’ permission during their match against Marcus on Saturday, 19 October 2013 as reported by the match officials.
