The Bakau Youth Association for Community Welfare will this Saturday 19th June, host the 8th edition of the eagerly anticipated Miss Bakau Beauty Contest and Pageant, at the Friendship Hotel poolside in Bakau.
According to Mr. Demba Njie, the President of the association, "BYCAW intends to provide scholarships to 15 needy students and deserving pupils and students from the community of greater Bakau."
Ebrima Jaw Manneh, the Secretary -General of the association said one of the core values of the association is to help in the holistic development of young people in the community.
"Since provision of education is the pivot of such an effort, we decided that all proceeds from this year's event will go to scholarships," he added.
Amie Jammeh, the head of the event's organising committee said the Champion Sounds System has generously offered to provide music in addition to the live acts of some of The Gambia's top rappers and singers.
