Busumbala Man In Trouble

A Busumbala resident, Malick Fatty last Tuesday appeared before Magistrate J.A. Effim of the Brikama Magistrates' Court for allegedly obtaining money by false pretence, contrary to the Laws of The Gambia.

According to the particulars of offence, the accused Malick Fatty, in the year 2007, at Busumbala Village obtained an amount of D45, 000 from one Isatou Jeng under the pretext that he would sell a plot of land to her knowing that he was not the lawful owner of the said land.

When the charge was read to him and interpreted in the local language he understands, he pleaded guilty.

At that juncture, the case was adjourned to 9th November 2009 for judgement.
