Bush fire causes damage in Sutukoba, Dampha Kunda

A recent bush fire in the village of Sutukoba in Wuli East District of URR has left the family of one Boe Yaffa hopeless and in dire need of assistance after consuming his entire farm produces. Though no life was lost, the extent of the disaster, according to eyewitnesses, was very severe.

According to one Naffa Jabai, an eyewitness who was among the villagers who struggled to control the fire, the incident has destroyed over 500 bundles of coos.

At the time of going to press, the actual cause of the fire is yet to be established.

"We tried very hard to protect the coos from the fire but we were not successful,' said Mr. Naffa.

In a related development, a fire outbreak was also reported in Dampha Kunda Village in Tumana District of URR, destroying recently harvested groundnuts.
