Burglary Gets 2-years Jailed Term

Magistrate Fred Foster of the Brikama Magistrates' Court recently convicted and sentenced one Musa Touray to two years in prison with hard labour for shop breaking and stealing.

According to the facts of the case as narrated by the police prosecutor, 1st Class Lamin Jammeh, it happened on the 21st of August 2009 at Brikama. He said the complainant Buba S. Darboe was at home when he received a telephone call from one Haddy Bojang informing him that his shop was been broken into. He added that the complainant rushed to his shop only to confirmed that his shop was been broken into.

According to the prosecutor, the complainant check his shop and realized that his PH lab-top valued at D20,000 was missing and there then reported the matter to the Brikama Police station. Officer Jammeh further stated that later the investigation was mounted by the police and the accused was subsequently arrested.
