The Brikama Magistratrs' Court, presided over by Magistrate Emmanuel Amadi recently convicted and sentenced one Ebrima Jarju to a fine of D5000, in default to serve six months in prison for shop breaking and stealing.
According to the particulars of offence on count one, in the month of December 2009, at Brikama, Western Region, "the convict broke the shop of one Ousainou Njie with intent to commit a felony to wit stealing."
Count two stated that on the same month and year, the convict stole from the shop of the said Ebrima Njie items worth D3550.
Narrating the facts of the case, Police Prosecutor CPL 1883 Bojang, said the incident happened on 10th December 2009, at Brikama when the complainant reported to the Brikama Police Station that his shop was broken into.
He adduced that investigation was mounted leading to the arrest of the accused, whom he said, had confessed of committing the offence.
