Brufut United will host Gunjur United in the first-ever West Coast RegionRegional league opening game set for today, Friday 28 February 2014, at 4.30pm at the West Coast Region biggest football arena, Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.
Today’s meeting will be the first meeting of Brufut in the West Coast Regional league competition.
The West Coast Regional league opening game between Brufut United and Gunjur United is described by many football fans in the West Coast and its environs as a crunch tie.
Brufut United, who failed to progress to the 2014 GFF third division qualifiers, will be expecting a win against Gunjur United tomorrow to keep their dreams of qualifying to the GFF third division triangular qualifiers next season.
Gunjur United, on the other hand, also failed to deliver to expectations in the qualifiers and will be hoping to put up an astonishing performance against Brufut United come tomorrow to bag the maximum points as well as keeping chances of qualifying for the GFF third division triangular qualifiers next season.
Twelve teams will be vying for the league title and they will play home and away games and the team with the highest number of points will represent West Coast Region in the 2015 GFF third division triangular qualifiers.
The winner between Brufut United and Gunjur United in the opening game tomorrow will go home with a giant trophy and cash, while the loser will receive a consolation prize.
The West Coast Regional league opening game is expected to be graced by the GFF executive members and other significant dignitaries.
