Brikama Utd whip Tallinding Utd to reach FF Cup semis

Brikama United on Sunday thrashed Tallinding United 3-0 in the quarterfinal game played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium to progress to the semifinal of the 2015-2016 Gambia Football Federation FF Cup competition.

The Brikama-based outfit and Tallinding-based outfit both came into the game well determined to thrash each other to advance to the last four of the FF Cup competition, but the Brikama-based outfit were able to snatch the victory after notching in three goals in the first half, to progress to the semifinal.

Defending champions Wallidan advanced to the semifinal following their penalty shootout win over current league leaders Gambia Ports Authority, after the regulation time finished 1-1 in the quarterfinal game played at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium.

Bombada sailed to the semifinal after beating Bakau giant killers on penalties, following end of regulation time at 1-1 in the quarterfinal played at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

PSV Wellingara also beat Banjul United 9-8 on penalties, after the regulation time ended blank at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium to sail to the quarterfinal.

Brikama United will clash with second tier side PSV Wellingara in the all-West Region derby in the semifinal, and Bombada will rub shoulders with defending champions Wallidan in the other semifinal.
