The Western Region giants Brikama United FC has snatched their first victory in the 2009-10 Gambia Football Association First Division League Championship, following their narrow 2-1 win over Hotel boys Seaview.
Brikama United netted their goals in the 20th and 59th minute of the game by striker Ebou Kanteh and Modou Sowe, respectively.
Seaview fought back and created a few scoring opportunities, but managed to pull out one in the 79th minute of the game by striker Lamin Camara from a brilliant strike.
The victory is the Western Region giant first since the start of the league in January.
Brikama United FC now bagged 8 points from nine games, while Seaview FC also collected 8 points from nine games.
On the same day, Interior FC defeated Wallidan FC 2-1 in Sunday’s Week Nine of the Gambia Football Association (GFA) First Division league.
Interior FC now collected 12 points from 9 games, while Wallidan FC collected 10 points.
Gamtel FC also draw 0-0 with Hawks FC.
