Essa Sambou, head coach of Gambia Football Association division one current league leaders, Brikama United, says the second round of the league is going to be very tough for his team.
Sambou sensationally put Brikama United six points clear at the top of the table with 25 points in the first round.
He has vowed to maintain the same performance going into the second round with their heads held high although he is aware of the stiff competition he will have to face from fellow title contenders including Wallidan, Real De Banjul and reigning champions Gambia Ports Authority, for the title chase.
Speaking after his side’s goalless draw with Wallidan in the week eleven fixtures which also marked the end of round one at the Brikama Box bar Mini-stadium at the weekend, Sambou has also vowed to continue working hard with Brikama giants as they set their sights on maintaining their superb start to the 12-club league campaign.
“We will go back to the training ground and improve on our weaknesses ahead of the second round, added Sambou, who said he was really impressed with the performance of his team in the first round.
