Sixteen out of twenty team representatives in Brikama over the weekend converged at the Brikama Mini Stadium as part of an extraordinary congress of its sports committee.
Sunday's gathering mainly centred on the review of the constitution to adjust to national and international standards.
Part of the agreements made by team representatives during the congress was to change the name of the Brikama Youth and Sports Association to Brikama Youth and Sports Committee.
Delegates also agreed to extend the tenure of office from two to four years.
Lamin King Colley, who has been re-elected as the President of the committee in June last year, to oversee the affairs of the committee for two year will now maintain the same position until 2012.
Commenting on this development, King said "the move is to be in line with all committees towards the development of sports in Brikama".
