The murder case involving one Abdourahman Barry of Brikama continued recently at the Special Criminal Court before Justice Emmanuel Nkea.

The case continued with the testimony of the third prosecution witness, one Abdou Maraneh, a resident of Brikama Town.

Maraneh told the court that he knew the accused person, Abdourahman Barry, and the deceased, Sulayman Barry.

“On 25 October 2011, my daughter was sent to the shop. I went out to search for her, and while I was in the shop, the mother of the accused and the deceased came to the shop informing me that the accused, Abdourahman Barry, had a problem with his younger brother, Sulayman Barry, now the deceased,” he said.

He added that he went inside the compound, where he found the accused standing while the deceased was lying on the ground, but was alive.

“I then held the deceased and lifted him from the ground without the help of the accused,” he said, adding that the deceased and the accused shared the same mother and father, but he was not present at the time of the fight. PW3 said he did not see any blood on the deceased, adding that he stopped communicating to the deceased when their mother arrived at the scene of the crime. He insisted that the deceased was alive at the time he (the witness) arrived at the scene.

The case continues.
