Brikama on Monday beat ML Dertusa 2-0 in the
all-Brikama derby clash in the week-17 fixture played at the Brikama Box Bar
Mini Stadium.
The victory has increased Brikama’s chances of claiming the West Coast Regional third tier title.
Both sides made a dismal start to the West Coast Regional third division league losing majority of their games and managing to grab few draws in the first round.
It was not an easy encounter as Brikama and ML Dertusa came into the game with the intention of snatching the vital three points to improve their hopes.
But Brikama were the better side after netting two solid goals to grip the vital three points to keep their title ambitions alive.
The victory has earned Brikama mid-table with 22 points in sixteen games with a game in hand against league leader Jambanjelly United.
ML Dertusa are still languishing at the bottom with 12 points in seventeen games after their 2-0 defeat in the feet of Brikama in the all-Brikama derby game.
