Gunjur Community Fund, a charitable organisation based in the United Kingdom on Friday 5th April 2013, donated medical items and garden tools to the Gunjur Health Centre and Gunjur Lower Basic School, respectively.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony held at the Gunjur Health Centre, the Alkalo of Gunjur Alhagie Sulayman Touray commended the donors for the gesture. As he stated, it would help the health centre in their quest to quality health delivery.

Touray said they are aware of Gunjur Community Fund support towards the development of the village and then expressed optimism that the donated item would be put to good use.

Faburama Darboe, a friend to the donors, thanked Kebba K. Barrow and Adama Fofana for introducing the donors to the village, while noting that the donation was the fourth of its kind.

Darboe stated that the donors have in the past supported Mbanbanta Horticultural Garden, Gunjur Fish Market, installed tap at the Gunjur Lower Basic School, and also fenced the school premises.

Alhagie Mansu Darboe, a member of the Council of Elders, who hailed the donors for the gesture, said the gesture is geared towards good health care delivery.

Amanda Boyce, a member of Gunjur Community Fund, said it’s their wish to always give a helping hand to the people whenever the need arises.

The Chief of Kombo South, Alhagie Mustapha Touray, hailed the donors for the largesse and then urged the beneficiaries to make the best use of the donated items.

The Health Inspector of Gunjur, Lamin Camara, who spoke on the size of the coverage, thanked the donors for donating medicaments to the health centre, which he said, is all geared towards quality health delivery.
