Constructing new golf course is GGA priority

Ebrima Jawara, president of the Gambia Golf Association (GGA), has said that their main areas of priority over the next 12 months will be working on constructing a new golf course, increasing their membership, adding more schools in the schools programme and the 2015 Gambia Open and Pro-Am.

Mr Jawara spoke on Friday 2nd January 2015 during the fifth Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the association held at the Green Mamba Restaurant in Kololi.

He said the end of last year saw a new page in the relationship between the GGA and Fajara Club, when an MoU was signed between the two institutions.

He went on to highlight the numerous tournaments staged by the GGA, and thanked the sponsors of the various competitions.

In conclusion, the GGA president said 2014 saw golf in The Gambia bouncing back on a positive note, and with the continued support of members, and was hopeful that at the next AGM he will share more good news with the participants.

The new executive of the GGA for the period 2014-2019 is as follows:

President - Ebrima Jawara; Secretary-General Modou Drammeh who was elected unopposed, and Treasurer-Tony Tabbal.

Committee Members: Pa Famara Jatta and Tijan Kuyateh were re-elected, while Laity Joof was elected and replaced Binta Ceesay.
