Julia and Dodou Manneh of England recently donated various medical items to Gambia Red Cross Society through their mother Aji Sainabou Kujabi and Tapha Artist. The items included wheelchairs, BP machines and nutrition milk for children.

Speaking to this reporter, Fatou Gaye the health and disaster coordinator, GRCS, expressed gratitude to the donors who have supported them with the items.

She also hailed the donors’ mother for her foresight in suggesting that the items be given to GRCS.

According to her, they will hand over some of the items to some of the health centers because they may not need them all but assured that they will make sure the items reach the vulnerable intended people.

She encouraged other people to follow the footsteps of the donors in supporting the Gambia Red Cross, nothing that GRCS is for the Gambians and we could make it work.

She added that without Gambians supporting them they cannot totally depend on outsiders to be supporting GRCS. She also urged Gambians abroad to support GRCS.
