The fourth
prosecution witness (PW4), Ousman Saine, a footballer, recently testified in
the trial involving Assan Sawaneh and Matar Sarr, accused of affray, before
Magistrate Mbye of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court.
Saine told the court that he recognized the accused persons, and could recall what happened on 1 July 2015.
On the day in question, they were playing football at the Bakau beach between his team and the accused persons’ team.
Later, the two accused persons got angry and started quarreling, he said, adding that the 2nd accused hit the 1st accused on his face and the 1st accused also stabbed the 2nd accused, and both started bleeding.
According to him, he went home until 7 July 2015, when he was called by the police at Bakau police station where his statement was obtained.
The case was adjourned till 10 August 2015.
