Battle for GFF 1st division title, relegation set for weekend

Battle for the 2014-2015 First-Eco Partners-sponsored Gambia Football Federation division one league title and relegation are set for this weekend.

As part of week twenty-two games, on Saturday 30 May 2015, Gambia Ports Authority will play against Bombada at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium, where both sides will be playing for pride after securing good position in the league.

Brikama United will clash with Hawks at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium. Brikama United and Hawks will also be playing for pride after snatching good position in the league.

On Sunday 31 May 2015, Banjul United will rub shoulders with relegation threatened Bakau United at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium.

The Banjul-based outfit are mid-table and are hoping to recover after losing to Marimoo 2-1in the FA Cup quarterfinal at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai Kunda on Monday.

Bakau United are languishing at the bottom in the league and will be fighting for a win against Banjul United. They also hope Serrekunda United and Interior slip to Real De Banjul and Wallidan in order for them to stay in the top flight.

Wallidan will battle it out with Interior at the Father Gough Sports Complex in Manjai Kunda. Wallidan are two places above relegation zone and will be aiming for a victory against Interior in order to snatch good position in the league and avoid relegation to the second tier.

Interior are second-place from bottom and will be coming all out for a win against Wallidan in order to stay in the top flight next season and avoid relegation to the second tier.

Real De Banjul will take on Serrekunda United at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium.

Real De Banjul are currently leading the league and will be vying for a win against Serrekunda United to retain their 2013-2014 GFF division one league crown.

Serrekunda United are one place above relegation and will be looking for a victory against Real De Banjul to stay in the top flight next season.

Elsewhere, Gamtel will lock horns with Gambia Armed Forces at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium. Gamtel are second spot in the league and will be contesting for a win against Gambia Armed Forces. They also hope Real De Banjul slip to Serrekunda United to lift their first-ever league title.

Gambia Armed Forces are fifth place in the league and will be playing for pride.
