Bantaba progresses in East knock-out

Bantaba on Saturday thumped Latrikunda United 2-0 to progress in the ongoing Serrekunda East knock-out competition played at the Serrekunda East mini stadium at the weekend.

Bantaba opened the scores through Adama Kandeh in the 13th minute of the game from an extraordinary shot to give his side the lead.

Ismaila Badjie came very close to levelling the tally for Latrikunda United before the break, but his effort when off target.

Habib Sonko sealed the victory for Bantaba in the 65th minute of the game from a brilliant finish, to help his side progress in the knock-out competition.

Falcons beat United Stars 1-0. Solomon Kangform was on target for Falcons in the 28th minute of the game from left-back Ousman Jarju’s excellent cross to give his side the lead, which eventually proved to be the winner for Falcons.

United Stars missed the penalty before full time, thus the game ended 1-0 in favour of Falcons.

Elsewhere, Abuko United thrashed KS Trading 3-0 in a game dominated by the Abuko-based outfit, which had numerous goal-scoring opportunities.

Top scorer Yankuba Jarjue, Alda Mendy and Gibrial Silver were on the score sheet for Abuko United in the 12th, 36th and 56th minutes of the game respectively to snatch the vital three points and progress in the Serrekunda East knock-out competition.
