In passing sentence, the trial magistrate said plastic bags are harmful to the animals, natural resources and human beings.
He said the pollution of plastic bags could cause cancer, adding that the government imposed a ban on the use of plastic bags and every human being in the country should obey that law.
He said the law would not have mercy for anyone who is found selling or using plastic bags in the country.
