Banjulinding Youth and Sports Committee will kick start Mayor Samba Faal's sponsored Nooran football tournament at the village's football field today Pointsport can reveal.
According to Pa Suwareh Faye, coordinator of the first ever football tournament of this kind, will be supported by H.E. Sheikh Prof. Alh. Dr Yahya A.J.J. Jammeh, who made an additional contribution of D20,000 for the successful organization of the Nooran tournament.
"The tournament will be the biggest event to be staged by Banjulinding Youth and Sports committee. We have since managed to train 18 football coaches and 9 referees on the rules and the regulations of the game ahead of the eagerly anticipated Nooran football tournament," Pa Faye said.
The tournament, Pa Faye added, will avail the organizers the golden opportunity of selecting outstanding players within Kombo North for the third division qualifiers.
He commended Mafuji Jatta for his role in donating the committee a trophy as part of his contribution to what he called a worthy course, while thanking one of The Gambia’s leading GSM operators, Africell, for their significant contribution.
