Last years vice champions, Banjul,
on Sunday 14 December drew goal-less with Lamin in the ongoing Muhammed Yahya

The match was characterised by attacks and counter attacks
by both sides and in the 15thminute of
play Banjul
came close to scoring after striker Ousman Jagne slash through Lamin defence
line. His shot went wide. In the 22ndminute
Lamin Bakary Kani got through one and one but shot straight into the hands of
Banjul's goalkeeper Sisawo Jagne. The first half ended 0-0.
As the action resumed in the second half, Banjul
mounted more pressure on the Lamin defence and created numerous scoring
opportunities. They failed to capitalise on their chances as in the 57thminute skipper Sarjo Njanko was sent off after
tackling a Lamin player from behind. In the 74thminute Lamin were also reduced to 10 men when
midfielder Sainey Manneh was sent off for unsporting play.
In the 75thminute Banjul's
George Cole took a long range shot which was saved by Lamin's goalkeeper Yunus
Bojang.In the 80thminute Banjul
substitute Buba Conteh broke through the Lamin defence but the shot went over
the bar.
Still determined to collect vital three points, Lamin did not
surrender and they continued to fight until the game ended in stalemate.
In group B the same day, Serrekunda East came from a goal down
to beat Brikama 2-1 at Serrekunda East Mini Stadium. The victory has given
Serrekunda East top position in group B with four points followed by Banjul
with two points. Lamin are in third with one point and Brikama are bottom of
group B with no points.
Group A is currently led by Gunjur with three points
followed Serrekunda West with two points The defending champions Bakau are
third with a point barely edging it over Sukuta who are at the bottom of group
with one point.
