Bakau beat last year’s Super Nawettan champions, Serrekunda West, 1-0 in the all-Kanifing Municipality derby semi-finals games played at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.
Steve Biko talishman Sulayman Sanyang’s dying minutes strike took Bakau to the finals.
Serrekunda East defeated North Bank Region boys 5-4 on a marathon post match penalties shoot-out, after regulation time ended goalless in the semi-finals match played at the Serrekunda West Mini Stadium.
Serrekunda East came very close to opening the scores twice in the 56th and 57th minutes of the game, through Zakaria Darboe and Solomon Karfon, but their efforts were denied by BEM’s custodian Ousman Jobe.
BEM also came very close to opening the tally through striker Samba Saidy in the 59th minute of the game, but his shot was saved by Serrekunda East net-minder Ousainou Jeng.
Thus the game ended goalless, and the post-match penalties shoot-out ended 5-4 in favour of Serrekunda East.
