Assault Case Continues

The criminal assault case involving one Kissama Conteh continued at the Kanifing Magistrates' Court with the testimony of a prosecution witness, First Class 3116 Alhagie Ram Khan, a Police Officer.

In his testimony, First Class Khan told the court that he recognised the accused, Kissima Conteh and could recall on 15th September 2009.

According to him, on the day in question, he was among the security task force patrol team around Churchill Town when he heard a noise. He said upon arrival at the scene, he saw a crowd of people and upon enquiry, he was told that the accused was stoning the complainant, one Saikou Sidibeh.

Officer Khan further revealed that he was handed over a razor blade that was alleged to be used by the accused for attempting to kill the complainant. He said he then arrested the accused and collected the complainant and took them to Serrekunda Police Station where their statements were obtained.

The case was adjourned to 4th November 2009.
