One Pateh Jallow, a driver was on Monday 26th October 2009 arraigned at the Brikama Magistrates' Court before Magistrate Effim, charged with rash and negligent act causing death.
He denied the charge.
According to the charge sheet, on 24th October 2009, at Brikam Mandina-ba HighWay, the accused Pateh Jallow drove a motor vehicle with a registration number BJL 8866C in a rash and negligent manner, thereby caused the death of one Miss Kumba Sanneh.
The police prosecution, ASP Samateh applied for an adjournment on the grounds that, the case file was sent to the Attorney General Chambers for legal advice.
Meanwhile, his application was granted before the accused was granted court bail in the sum of D50, 000, with a Gambian surety who must swear to an affidavit of means.
