The Father Gough Sports Foundation inaugurated at the weekend an artificial pitch and officially named it after Alhagie Modou Njie Biri, at the Father Gough Sports complex in Manjai kunda.

The launch of the pitch, which also included the dedication of the new pavilions to Ousainou Njie, Saihou Sarr and Bye Malleh Wadda, began with a friendly match between friends of the Academy and the Gough Academy itself.

This was later followed by another friendly between St Augustine's and Gambia High School, and finally the Inter-Academy Tournament.

The Sensei Kaba Karate Club of Manjai Kunda entertained the crowd with a wonderful mind-blowing Karate display.

Gracing the occasion, Yusupha Sanyang, deputy Major of KMC, says it is impossible to develop KMC without the help of the people and therefore the KMC is very much appreciative of the fruitful development Father Gough and his foundation have spearheaded.

"I urge the youth of Manjai Kunda to make good use of this opportunity," he added.

Football jerseys, footballs and other football materials were donated by the Gough foundation to the Young African Football Club, which is under GFA in the 2nd Division league.

Father Gough also spoke at the occasion.
