Another dialogue has been scheduled to take place between the two Wrestling association presidential aspirants.
This was declared by the association at a press conference held yesterday at the KMC headquarters in Kanifing, where journalists were briefed on the upcoming election in two weeks’ time between the incumbent president of the Gambia Wrestling Association Matarr Jarju and his Vice President Abdoulie Bojang.
Both are highly interested in taking over the post in the upcoming Gambia Wrestling Association election, which was postponed due to a disagreement between the two aspiring candidates during the congress held last Saturday at the Independence Stadium Friendship Hotel in Bakau.
However, the incumbent president did not attend the conference, according to their mediator who represented him, due to his busy scheduled.
For his part, Musa Korteh, who disclosed to reporters that the incumbent president said he had no problem in giving the post to his vice president, but “it is a dialogue which has to be held between the president and the vice president”, since the president did not take part in the conference.
He added that when he spoke to both candidates who disclosed to him that they have no problem in giving out the post to the other, but since the president was not at the meeting, they should meet again and clarify who is to run for the presidency.
For his part, vice president Abdoulie Bojang told reporters that he could not give his final decision in the absence of the president.
He said he could only make a decision together with the incumbent president, if the latter had attended the conference.
He further revealed that he is running for the presidential post because he is doing it for the nation at large and not for other reasons.
He revealed that the conference was to have a dialogue between him and the incumbent as a family, but due to his absence, a dialogue has to be rescheduled between them.
