The alleged murder case involving one Lamin Ceesay continued recently at the Special Criminal Court in Banjul with the testimony of the second prosecution witness.

Mustapha Ceesay testified and told the court that he knew the accused person and on 15 February 2012, when he came home, he was told the accused had a fight with the deceased, Ousman Darboe.

He said he was further told that Ousman was seriously wounded and was taken to the RVTH for treatment, but after some days Ousman passed away, adding that they went and collected the remains for burial.

Under cross-examination, he told the court that he was not present when the fight took place and he did not know what caused the fight.

He was only told that there was a fight between the accused and the deceased and the deceased sustained an injury on his forehead, he said, adding that he did not know which object the accused used to assault the victim.
