Alleged false pretence case reaches court

One Dodou Nyang was recently arraigned at the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, charged with obtaining money by false pretence.

After denying the charge, he was granted court bail of D20, 000.

The case was then adjourned till 28 November 2011.

According to the charge sheet, Dodou Nyang, on 19 October 2011, at Latrikunda German, in the Kanifing Municipality, by false pretence and with intent to defraud, allegedly obtained from one Fatou Jaiteh D5, 000 with the representation that he had a Toshiba laptop for sale, which he knew to be false and thereby committed an offence.
