Alleged burglar arraigned

A man called Modou Lamin Dibba, accused of breaking into a building, was yesterday arraigned before Magistrate Tabally of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court.

He denied the charge and was granted court bail of D50,000 with a Gambian surety, who must deposit an ID card.

The charge sheet read in court stated that on 21 August 2014, at Serrekunda, in the Kanifing Municipality, the accused, Modou Lamin Dibba, broke into a garage and entered through the door with intent to commit a felony.

The case was adjourned till 15 September 2014.

In a separate development, one Matar Faal was also arraigned yesterday before Magistrate Tabally of the Kanifing Magistrates’ Court, charged with assault causing actual bodily harm.

The particulars of offence read that on 27 August 2014, at Fajara, in the Kanifing Municipality, he assaulted his wife, Aja Fatou Njie, by beating her, causing her injuries on her lips and eye.

He denied the charge and was granted court bail of D25,000 with a Gambian surety, who must deposit an ID card, and ordered him to keep the peace.

The case was adjourned till 16 September 2014.
