He denied the charge and was granted court bail of D25,000 with a Gambian surety who must deposit an ID card.
Hearing was adjourned till 8 June 2015.
Prosecutors alleged that the accused, Mustapha Jobe, on 26 May 2015 at Latrikunda German in the Kanifing Municipality, unlawfully assaulted one Tamsir Ndow by stabbing him with a knife on his finger causing him actual bodily harm.
