Alex Sanchaba FC and Kajabang FC are through to the 2013-2014 Nawettan proper after winning their qualifying round games played at the Gunjur Nyamina Football Field at the weekend.
Sanchaba FC sailed to the nawettan proper after their hard-fought 2-1 win over the 2010 Gunjur knockout champions Manchester United FC in their crunch qualifiers game played on Sunday.
Alex Sanchaba’s Mustapha Touray, in the 26th minute of the game, from a close-range strike, gave his side the lead, before Modou Lamin Jammeh levelled the score for Man U in the 36th minute of the game to cancel out
Touray’s opener.
Jerreh Jabang netted the second goal in the 63rd minute of the game from a goal-mouth scramble, which eventually proved to be the winner and also earned Alex Sanchaba a place in the nawettan proper.
Kajabang FC sailed to the nawettan proper following their 4-3 post-match penalty shootout win over Turkey United FC, after a goalless draw in the regulation time on Saturday.
Alex Sanchaba FC and Kajabang FC have now joined Late Dembo FC and Dabani Electrical Enterprise FC in the 2013-2014 Gunjur Nawettan proper, which will kick-start immediately after Ramadan with a Super Cup final between reigning league champions World Eleven FC and knockout champions Nyokoyorr FC.
