Sep 8, 2010, 1:09 PM

The Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya (the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association) recently concluded a ten-day training of trainers on Ta'leemul Qur'an (learning of the Qur'an) training programme at Nusrat Senior Secondary School in Bundung.

The programme, held from 20 to 31 August 2010, attracted 25 participants from across the country.

The aim of the programme was to gather together those who can read the Holy Qur'an to teach them the Tajweedul Qur'an (the rules of the correct recitation of the Holy Qur'an) for them to impact the knowledge to others.

Speaking on behalf of the Amir of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at the Gambia, Naib Amir Fafanding Darbo said the Holy Qu'ran is the peak of excellence. He admonished the youth to befriend the Holy Qur'an and make it their guiding principle in every walk of life. Nothing should make them indifferent to the Holy Qur’an, he said, adding that in as much as they recite it correctly, they should also act on its beautiful teachings. He quoted the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) as saying that the best of people are the ones who learn the Holy Qur'an and teach it to others.

Earlier in his remarks, the Sadr (President) of the Majlis Khuddamul Ahmadiyya said that a life without the Holy Qur'an is not the least meritorious. The Holy Qur'an, being the Book of nature, perfectly contains all the teachings that man needs, he said. "It removes man from every kind of darkness into light and cures spiritual ailments of the heart" he said. Reciting the Holy Qur'an correctly is the responsibility of every Ahmadi youth, he also noted, emphasising that a house in which the Holy Qur'an is not recited is a dilapidated house. He said the Holy Qur'an is the only book on earth today that has the power of spiritually uplifting an individual. He therefore called on the Ahmadi youth to be attached to the Holy Qur'an as per Jama'at traditions.

For his part, the Naib Amir and Missionary In-Charge Ustaz Syed Saeedu-ul-Hassan Shah, spoke on the Promised Messiah and Imam Mahdi (AS)'s love for the Noble Qur'an. He said that according to the Promised Messiah (as), the Holy Qur'an is so perfect that it does not need anything external to support its veracity.

Other speakers on the occasion included Mr Demba Kandeh and Mr Alieu Trawally who spoke on the Exalted Status of the noble Qur'an and the Importance of Qur'anic Recitation respectively.
