Actions set to resume in GFF 1st Division league today

Following the decision of the National Sports Council (NSC) to lift three-month suspension on Gambia Football Federation (GFF) a fortnight ago, actions are set to resume in the 2013-2014 GFF division one league today, 3 June 2014.

As part of week-sixteen fixtures, Armed Forces will clash with Hawks at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.

Armed Forces and Hawks are struggling on the league table and will be vying for a win against each other to improve their positions in the league.

Reigning league champions Steve Biko will host Bakau United in the all-Bakau derby clash at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.

Steve Biko are struggling at the bottom of the league table and will be fighting for a win against Interior to improve their position as well as to keep their chances of retaining their 2012-2013 league crown.

On the other front, Bakau United are mid-table and will also be looking for a victory to boost their title ambitions alive.

Elsewhere, Gambia Ports Authority will play against Wallidan in the other week-sixteen fixtures at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium.

Gambia Ports Authority and Wallidan are among title contenders and both sides will be hunting for a win against each other to fancy their chances of winning the league.

On Wednesday 4 June 2014, Real De Banjul will meet Samger at the Banjul KG5 Mini Stadium.

Real De Banjul are currently leading the league table and are hoping for revenge against Samger to salvage their lead after losing to Academy boys 1-0 in the first round.

Samger are struggling this season and will be fighting for a win against Real De Banjul to keep their hopes of staying in the top flight next season.

Banjul United will take on Brikama United at the Serrekunda East Mini Stadium.

Brikama United are 3rd place in the league and are eagerly looking for a win against Banjul United to mount pressure on league leaders Real De Banjul.

Banjul United are mid-table and are aiming for a win to keep their hopes of staying in the premier tier next season.

Elsewhere, Gamtel will battle it out with Police outfit Interior at the Brikama Box Bar Mini Stadium.

Gamtel are currently occupying 2nd place on the league table and will be coming all out for a win against their opponents to mount pressure on league leaders Real De Banjul following their exit from the FA Cup by Wallidan at the weekend.

Interior are mid-table and will be searching for a win against Gamtel to improve their position in the league.
